چکیده

Purpose In anesthetic management, it is widely accepted that obese patients are more likely to suffer airway obstructions and reductions in arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2). Therefore, important take special measures prevent desaturation during the deep sedation of patients. This clinical study examined whether use nasal high-flow systems (NHFS) keep higher SpO2 reduced hypoxemia than conventional cannula with intellectual disabilities for dental treatment. Materials Methods Eighteen (body mass index: >25) who underwent were enrolled. each case, was induced using propofol maintained at a bispectral index 50 70. The subjects randomly assigned control administration (5 L/min via cannula) or NHFS (40% O2, 40 L/min, 37 °C) arm alternate shifts as crossover trial. primary endpoint minimum value, incidence treatment also evaluated. Results mean value significantly (95.8 ± 2.1 % vs 93.6 4.1 %, P = 0.0052, 95% confidence interval: 0.608-3.947). Hypoxemic episodes (SpO2: ≤94%) occurred 3 cases (16.7%) 11 (61.1%) (P 0.0076, odds ratio: 0.127, interval 0.0324 - 0.630). Conclusion resulted

Comparative evaluation of high-flow nasal cannula and conventional oxygen therapy in paediatric cardiac surgical patients: a randomized controlled trial.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to compare high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and conventional O2 therapy (OT) in paediatric cardiac surgical patients; the primary objective of the study was to evaluate whether HFNC was able to improve PaCO2 elimination in the first 48 h after extubation postoperatively. METHODS We conducted a randomized, controlled trial in pediatric cardiac surgical patien...

Benefits of an oxygen reservoir cannula versus a conventional nasal cannula during exercise in hypoxemic COPD patients: a crossover trial.

BACKGROUND The Oxymizer® is a special nasal cannula that provides a higher luminal diameter in combination with an incorporated oxygen (O2) reservoir. It is assumed that a higher O2 concentration can be delivered breath by breath in order to increase oxygenation. OBJECTIVE We aimed to investigate the effects of the Oxymizer on endurance time in comparison to a conventional nasal cannula (CNC)...
